How to have gratitude for the creative wall
It might sound a little odd to have “gratitude” for a challenge, especially one that’s requiring more from you than you thought possible.
The creative wall we can run into when we’re facing that new level (or working through it) is challenging for a reason, but it's also something we can have gratitude for it by reframing what it is and why it's there.
No matter if you’re in the middle of writing your book, creating a new product, building your business, you started the journey with an abundance of hope, excitement, and possibility. You could see the end or the goal in your mind’s eye. You’ve done 80% of the work. Maybe you’ve completed your first draft. Maybe you’ve hit publish. Maybe you’ve been in business for a few years.
At some point, you’ll hit the 20% mark.
This is exactly why I wanted to do this short and sweet episode. You're facing this wall because you’ve done much of the work or else it wouldn’t have presented itself to you. You had to do the work, take the steps, show up to even get to this place. Even if it’s frustrating where you are.
Want to go deeper?
I believe if the story came to you, it must come through you to share. You've already done the brave work of writing and publishing. Now it's time to show up powerfully as the thought leader you are, so your message reaches the people who need it most. Because when visibility opportunities arrive — a book signing, a podcast invitation, a speaking engagement — it's not only about the writing anymore. It's about you, fully showing up, as the person behind the work and message.
